Start your Georgia Mushroom Grow Kit
Step-By-Step Setup
You'll be harvesting fresh mushrooms before you know it.
1. Unbox & Inspect
-
-
Check that your grow block/bag is intact, no tears.
-
If anything looks damaged, take a photo and email support (info@gamushroom.com)
-
2. Cut & Open the Bag
-
-
Remove perforation form box; Using clean scissors or a knife, cut a small “X” or rectangle centered in perforation opening.
-
no need to peel back the plastic. The mushrooms will push through once they are ready to pin (grow).
-
3. Hydrate
-
-
Mist the cut area 2–3 times with clean water.
-
Do not soak or submerge the whole block. Mist a healthy amount, there will be water build up, but do not soak.
-
4. Place Your Kit
-
-
Put it in lit room, indirect light (no direct sun).
-
Ideal temp: 60–75°F (15–24°C).
-
Keep away from heating vents, AC blasts, and direct fans.
-
5. Daily Care
-
-
Mist the cut area 2–3 times a day or as needed to keep it lightly moist, not soaked
-
If the room is very dry, mist more frequently or create a simple humidity tent.
-
6. When Mushrooms Start to Pin
-
-
You’ll see small “baby mushrooms” (pins) within 7–14 days in good conditions.
-
Keep misting the air around them, not directly on the pins.
-
7. Time to Harvest
-
-
Harvest when caps are almost fully open, edges still slightly curled under. If the caps have turned upwards and started to drop spores, the kit is slightly past prime..... Still good eating though! Cook thoroughly.
-
The mushrooms will come off in one big bunch - place your thumbs under the base and twist and lift upwards lightly. If preferred, use a sharp knife to cut at the base. If you plan to second fruit, remove all mycelium from the grow location, back down to the substrate. The second flush will regrow out of the same spot! - certain species need a short rest period.
-
Store in the fridge in paper, not plastic, if you’re not cooking immediately.
